Saddlemen）名義でKEYSTONE, ATLANTIC, COWBOY, HOLIDAY, ESSEXレーベルに録音（リノ・ブラウン＆ハー・バッカルーズ（Reno Browne and Her Buckaroos）名義の録音もあり）。1952年にグループ名をビル・ヘイリー＆ヒズ・コメッツに変更し、1953年にESSEXレーベルに録音した「Crazy Man, Crazy」がヒットを記録。1954年に大手DECCAレーベルに移籍し発表した「Rock Around the Clock」は、翌1955年に公開された映画『Blackboard Jungle（邦題：暴力教室）』のテーマ曲として話題となり大ヒットを記録し、ロックンロールのブームを決定的なものとした。その後も同レーベルにて「See You Later, Alligator」や「Razzle-Dazzle」等、多くのヒットを放ち、1956年には自身らも出演した映画『Rock Around the Clock』と『Don't Knock the
